Gabriella tells Troy she's "Gotta Go Her Own Way," others do the same...

Normally, I would save these headlines for Friday's edition of The Trivial Pursuit.  But, we've hit three major celebrity pre-Christmas break-ups, and I guess that's the magic number that tips the balance between ignoring these scandalous bits of gossip and posting them post-haste.
The first of the gang to go will either have the kids crushed or giddily ecstatic. OMG.  High School Musical co-stars Vanessa Hudgens, 22, and Zac Efron, 23, are no more.  Troy and Gabriella are done.  Their relationship is in the toilet.  Supposedly, there's zero drama on this one, they both amicably walked away.  Sharpay (or, uh, Ryan?) the Zefron is free, get in there. Then, just one day after the season finale of Dexter's fifth season, word came that on-screen siblings and off-screen couple Michael C. Hall, 39, and Jennifer Carpenter, 31, were divorcing after two years of marriage.  According to E!Online, Carpenter claims they'd been separated for some time.   Again, supposedly this is another situation in which both parties walked away amicably, though, working side by side must make for some awkward moments...let's hope Julia Stiles has nothing to do with this. Last but probably not least, today it was announced that Scarlett Johansson, 26, and Ryan Reynolds, 34, are also divorcing after two years of marriage. Guess what happened?  Nobody knows!  Rumor has it the crumbling marriage was a matter of their lives headed in different directions, with both being too focused on careers to ever spend real time together.  Is this a case of conflicting schedules?  I'm sure the tabloids will come up with a dozen + answers to that question.  For now, though, a statement was released from Reynolds' camp reading  "After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage...We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it."  Again, amicable.  This feels really repetitive, doesn't it?  Three splits and no scandal...is something broken in Hollywood?
